Blue Eyeliner Makeup Inspo

I’m 100% on board with all the blue eyeliner going around right now…very 2000s but with it’s own modern twist! I’ve been experimenting with it for a little while and came up with my favorite way to pull it off without just looking like you’re ready for some decade-themed-party.

  1. Let it be the pop of color in your look. Pair it with neutral makeup on the rest of your face and neutrals in your outfit.

  2. Lean toward orange-tones for blush and lips. Orange and blue are complimentary colors and I think sticking to oranges (vs red/pink) helps keep the blue as the only pop.

  3. Give it a wing! A wing is a great way to show off the color a little more so it doesn’t all hide behind your lashes.

  4. Go ahead and line both the top lid and bottom lid, all the way across (you could even add it to the inner corners if you want). I used Sephora Liquid Liner in “Fancy Blue” on top, and the Revlon Color Stay Eyeliner Pencil in “Sapphire” for the bottom. With a pencil, it’s a little easier to get nice and close to the water line.

  5. Stay away from sparkles. Keeping it matte kind of adds to the “cool” look, whereas I felt like sparkles or too much highlighter felt like I was back in middle school.

What do you guys think about this trend? I also love this similar look with a bright monochrome look across the whole lid, but I haven’t been brave enough to try it yet!
