TRIP TO THE PHILIPPINES: PART TWO

Since the Philippines is really (really) inexpensive, we wanted to take full advantage of a place like this. We went to Puerto Del Sol, but there are so many other beautiful ones!

The second part of the trip was all about photos! After an 8 hour drive north, we found the most gorgeous resort to stay at for the next two nights. There were sprawling flower bushes everywhere, massage huts on the beach, tropical drinks (like my favorite watermelon smoothie) and an infinity pool.

Nathan and I stayed in a Bahay Kubo which is basically a hut on stilts! I've wanted to spend the night in a tree house forever, so that was a treat!

It was my birthday while we were at Puerto Del Sol, so my family brought me this amazing chocolate cake that said "Happy Birthday Julie!" I blew out the candle on my first try :)

The second day in that area, we headed to some waterfalls nearby. It was quite the experience getting there on some tiny local tricycle rides (soooo funnnn), and once we arrived we swam in the super super clear water and lounged in the huts on shore.

On our way back to Manila from our time at the resort, we stopped at Hundred Islands National Park. It was sooo beautiful and so hard to capture in just photographs. It's basically an area where the volcanic activity has popped up a hundred (ish) tiny islands, and you can take boat from island to island for different views and activities. There was a cave diving hole (I was too scared, but Nathan obviously GoPro-ed his multiple jumps), snorkeling, zip lining, swimming... they had it all. One of my aunts stopped and got us fresh watermelon on the way there, which I thoroughly enjoyed while floating on the ocean!

Part three (the final stretch) will be up soon with photos from one more resort, my Grandma's party and our final adventure at some huge waterfalls.
